Tezos Foundation Personnel Updates

Following a recent Council meeting, the Tezos Foundation is proud to announce that Anil Madhavapeddy and Chris Wright have been appointed as non-executive Council Members of the Tezos Foundation.

Anil Madhavapeddy is a University Lecturer (Associate Prof) in the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, where he researches the intersection of computer systems and programming languages. Anil has worked extensively on open source software for over 25 years, and his research has also been spun out into commercial entities. He was part of the team that created the Xen hypervisor (acquired by Citrix in 2007) and he founded Unikernel Systems (acquired by Docker in 2016). He has directed the OCaml Labs group since 2012, with a mission to maintain and improve the OCaml programming language. He has a BEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and is a governing body Fellow at Pembroke College.

Chris is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Red Hat, an open source software company which was acquired by IBM in 2019. As CTO, Chris oversees a global team responsible for incubating emerging technologies and developing new perspectives on innovations such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, distributed storage, automation and continuous delivery and distributed ledger. Chris has helped Red Hat transition from a single product business to the foundation from which global enterprise clients can scale apps and roll out emerging technologies across all types of cloud environments. Chris is passionate about open source software, and he has spent 25 years in the industry, 20 years in open source. He received his Bsc in Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

“Anil and Chris each bring over 20 years of software development experience to the Foundation Council, and will provide invaluable technical expertise as we continue to execute on our mission to foster the growth of the Tezos protocol, and to strengthen the global Tezos community,” said Hubertus Thonhauser, Chair of the Tezos Foundation Council.

Madhavapeddy and Wright will join Hubertus Thonhauser, Alexis Bonte, Alice Lloyd George, Lars Haussman, Marylène Micheloud, and Danny Masters on the Tezos Foundation Council, effective immediately.
