What are the eligibility requirements?

What team sizes are allowed?

There’s no limit to the number of team members, however, if a company hasn’t been formed, Tezos Foundation will need confirmation from the Team representative and team mates regarding who to pay in case a bounty is successfully completed.

Is speed of the Bounty submission taken into account?

There is a submission start date and end date and all Bounty submissions made during this period will be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.

How many Bounty teams will be paid out?

What’s the Bounty payment amount?

Can you pay more than one individual?

  1. If you are participating with another individual(s) but have not registered a company, you must specify who the primary contact person is in the Bounty registration form.
  2. Where more than one individual is participating, the primary contact must confirm the payment arrangement (e.g. 100% payment made to the primary contact, or payment to be split 50%/50% between the primary contact and another team member).
  3. In the event that the Tezos Foundation pays one person on behalf of a team, the other team members must send an email to confirm they agree to the payment arrangement.
  4. The Tezos Foundation is not responsible for ensuring the primary contact passes on the appropriate % bounty payment to remaining team members.

What’s the review criteria?

The completed bounty submission will be evaluated by business and technical experts. As each bounty is different, generalizable assessment criteria cannot be provided. In general, bounties will be evaluated along the dimensions of 1) completeness and 2) quality of execution; both dimensions will be seen 3) relative to the other completed bounty submissions.

Can anyone propose a new Bounty?

Yes! All Tezos Ecosystem members are invited to propose Bounties by completing this form.

Do I need to have a Github account to submit my work?

Yes, you must create a Github repository for work submission.

Can I reuse code I have previously developed?

Yes, you can re-use code you have previously developed and released under an open source license, however you understand that the Tezos Foundation will only assess the additional work completed to fulfill the Bounty requirements, and you will not be compensated for the already published and re-used code.

What does the Bounty amount range mean exactly?

The Bounty amount range indicates the range of the amount that will be offered for a completed bounty project which will vary depending on the discretionary criteria mentioned above. The final bounty amount offered will be decided by the Executive Committee based on recommendations from experts in the Tezos ecosystem, including the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).

What does “Number of bounties” stand for?

“Number of bounties” indicates the total number of bounties offered for a specific bounty project by the Tezos Foundation (one bounty per team per project). I.e. if the total number of bounties equals 3, this means that maximum three teams will be paid for a specific completed bounty project.

What does “Number of teams” stand for?

“Number of teams” reflects the number of teams that have announced they are currently working on a bounty project. The Tezos Foundation updates this information on an ongoing basis. The number of teams working on a bounty project can exceed the number of bounties offered.
