Dear Tezos community,

In case you missed it, last week I announced that I will not seek re-election to the Tezos Foundation Council this spring. I am so grateful for the entire Tezos community and the work we have put in together to build momentum for the Tezos project and ecosystem. To ensure a smooth transition, the Foundation Council has formed a Nomination Committee which consists of Hubertus Thonhauser, Alexis Bonte, Ryan Lackey, and Ulrich Sauter.

Dear Tezos community

We were delighted to see further progress on the digital securities (security tokens) front this week, as Vertalo announced that it has made Tezos its default blockchain for digital securities issuance, transitioning over from Ethereum. Vertalo, a Texas-based security token management and issuance platform, will now encourage its customers to switch over to Tezos, citing Tezos’ faster transactions, greater scalability, and more stable network of participants.

It was an exciting week for the Tezos ecosystem, as VC firm Andra Capital announced that it will launch its Silicon Valley Coin (SVC) on Tezos via TokenSoft’s issuance platform. The SVC will enable eligible investors to invest in Andra Capital’s open-ended technology fund, which will invest in private technology companies.

Nomadic Labs has been busy this week, as researchers Bruno Bernardo, Raphaël Cauderlier, Julien Tesson, and Basile Pesin combined forces to publish a research paper, “Albert, an intermediate smart-contract language for the Tezos blockchain.” In addition to the paper, Raphaël Cauderlier will present on Albert at the Financial Cryptography and Data Security Conference 2020 in Malaysia. Finally, Nomadic announced that it partnered with Inria to develop a research program dedicated to Tezos and blockchain technology in general. The collaboration has funded 4 projects and 11 researchers in France so far.
